In Matthew 16:24, Jesus lays out the blueprint for discipleship: deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow Him. But what does it truly mean to deny ourselves? It means steering clear of actions and thoughts that don't honor God. This choice often leads us to tough decisions. Decisions that could cost us financially in business or strain relationships. Yet, embracing honesty aligns our actions with God's purpose. So, where does the journey of discipleship start? It begins in the heart. Deciding to follow Jesus means counting the costs and understanding both the sacrifices and the blessings involved, as highlighted in the Gospel of Luke. The path to discipleship starts with prayer, expressing our desire for more of Him and less of us. It continues as we immerse ourselves in the Word, studying how Jesus lived His life to mirror His actions in our own. Through community support and discipleship programs, we can foster Jesus' growth within us.Choosing to be Jesus' disciple is a transformative commitment that reshapes our priorities, actions, and lives. How can you further embody the principles of discipleship in your daily life?#discipleship #faithjourney #christianity #spiritualgrowth

Elijah Learns More about the Holy Ghost“1 Kings 19: Elijah Learns More about the Holy Ghost,” Old Testament Seminary Student Study Guide (2002), 110It would seem that the events recorded in 1 Kings 18 would convince anyone who witnessed or heard about them that Elijah’s God is the true God. Not every one was convinced, however, because true conversion only occurs through the Holy Ghost—not through mighty miracles. The Spirit was likely present at the events in 1 Kings 18, but only those who were receptive to it had a change of heart. A change of heart does not occur because of fire out of heaven but rather because of quiet burning in the heart. Look for how the Lord reminded Elijah of this principle in 1 Kings 19. As you read, you may also want to consider how you feel when you’ve done the right thing but then suffer in some way for your decision. If you have ever felt as if you have suffered unjustly, you can especially relate to Elijah in 1 Kings 19. Notice in 1 Kings 19 what and how the Lord taught Elijah when he was discouraged. Perhaps knowing Elijah’s story may help you at a time when you stand for the right but feel like you are standing alone.Understanding the Scriptures1 Kings 19

This is the reason I do Word before World each morning and as much as I can I talk with God, watch and listen to messages along with read. It’s easy to fall in the trap of things in this World and I do often but catch myself faster. In Touch Ministries Devotional Does your relationship with God seem satisfying, or do you need to be refueled?A fire will not continue to burn strongly unless it’s stoked. Similarly, a believer’s fervor, if left untended, can diminish.Believers can experience “cooling” for several reasons. When tragedy strikes, a person may feel that his prayers went unanswered and that God doesn’t care. If he then prays less, it’s easy to drift away from the Lord. At other times, Christians can be sidetracked by the world’s priorities. For instance, Timothy’s enthusiasm wavered because of false teaching and fear.Drifting can be subtle and hard to detect. Six questions can help you assess whether your enthusiasm for God remains strong: Do you ... 1. Desire to serve God, share the gospel, and help others?2. Spend time in the Word daily?3. Pray, knowing that God is listening and working?4. Faithfully attend church and tithe?5. Experience joy, peace, and hope in Jesus?6. Stand firm in your godly convictions? If some of your answers recently changed from “yes” to “no,” your fire may be diminishing. Acknowledge this to the Lord, and ask for His help to refuel your passion.

The Power of Words Jeremiah 1: 9. Then the LORD put forth his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. - Bible OfflineThe verse above gives us insightful thoughts about the power of words and the importance of using them wisely, especially when it comes to speaking words of faith and positivity. The words we speak have a profound impact on our lives and the lives of those around us. Using the word of God to guide our speech and actions can bring about positive change and blessings. The confessions of our mouths have consequences, and it's crucial to be mindful of what we say, both to ourselves and to others. Maintaining good communication, controlling our emotions, and speaking with kindness and wisdom can make a significant difference in our relationships and the outcomes we experience in life. The passage emphasizes the idea that our words are like seeds, and what we sow with them can ultimately determine the harvest we reap. It teaches us the importance of using words for positivity, empowerment, and spiritual guidance.https://lnkd.in/dePkjCkh

The very first thing one MUST do to work out their salvation with fear & trembling Phil 2:12, is to get to know God really well, bc only fools trust someone they don't know really well. Most of those verses were from the OT where Israelites knew God VERY well after many decades of being led & punished by Him. The only one from the NT has NOTHING to do with trusting God! Every child of God is that bc they have got to know Him well enough to fear Him so they could repent to receive the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of their sins. Acts 2:38PLEASE read REPENTANCE on Substack or on Facebook's Life Abundant. It's on Linkedin as well. I trust God fully bc I know Him personally. I have NEVER felt anxiety even when being diagnosed with stage 4, aggressive, prostate, terminal cancer with 5 years to live, 8 years ago! I now go to have a tumor looked at in my bladder tomorrow. I have been bleeding profusely in my bladder since May 7. I have ZERO anxiety or fear or stress. I just trust God bc I know He is in control of my life. The fear of the Lord leads to life: then one rests content, untouched by trouble. Prov. 19:23

It's easy to say we trust Him, but do we? In difficult times it's hard not to have our eyes on the situation or ourselves, rather than on God and His provision. Yet, that is exactly what He is training us to do.Fill yourself with His word so that you automatically see through that lens in every situation. Here are some verses for us to consider when we're faced with difficulty. Isaiah 26:3-4- You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.Psalm 40:4- Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!Psalm 56:3-4- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.1 John 4:18- There is no fear in love, butperfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.Psalm 37:5- Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.You can trust Him because He has the power to do what He has promised, and He will never deny His true character, which is perfect in His love towards you.#RisenScepter #GodsGlory #missionstrip #WordOfGod #worship #BishopG #jesuschrist #salvationinchrist #salvation #BodyofChrist

Monday Devotional5 February 2024📌THE WHOLE DUTY OF MANEcclesiastes 12:13 NKJVLet us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.📌God will judge everything we do, even what is done in secret, whether good or bad.📌Fearing God means keeping his commandments. This is central to Christianity. Notice what verse 13 says, “This is the whole duty of man.” Fearing and following God is what we are made for. His commandments seem difficult to us, overbearing at times, but following him is the life we really want.📌To fear God isto desire to live in harmony with His righteous standards and to honor Him in all that you do. We do not naturally seek to honor God, because our sinful natures lead us to pursue selfish pleasures instead of delighting in God and discovering the joy of knowing and loving Him.📌Obedience to God is not only a way to worship him, but a way to get closer to him, prepare for whatever he leads you to and grow as a person.📌Obedience to the commandments bringsfreedom, personal growth, protection from danger, and many other temporal and spiritual blessings.. Principles of His Kingdom, helps us avoid all the troubles and torment that come from sin and iniquity📌Don't let your emotions rule your life;bring them to God so He can help you address them. He is not disappointed or frustrated by your struggles, doubts or pain. He cares about you, and you can trust Him with those things. When you trust, you go to God and His word when life is hard.📌The Ten Commandments were not a suggestion.Fear God, and your enemies will fear you.Benjamin FranklinHave a God-fearing week!Imelda TsumbaAuthor ✍🏻✍🏻📝📝Counselor/Coach+263 772 400 517
