SMU men's golf hosts the Trinity Forest Invitational from Trinity Forest Golf Club October 6-8.

TOURNAMENT FIELD:Alongside the Mustangs the field includes, Abilene Christian, Furman, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, NC State, North Texas, Rice, San Francisco, UNLV, USC, UTA, UTRGV and UTSA.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:The 54-hole event will begin on Sunday with 18 holes each day. Little Rock is the reigning champion, winning the last edition in 2022. The Mustangs finished in second in 2022 and took home top individual honors.

The Mustangs finished in a tie for sixth place at the last tournament, the Valero Texas Collegiate. The field featured eight teams ranked in the top 25. The Mustangs were led by Will Sides who finished in a tie for 11th. Zachary Kingsland and Enrique DImayuga both registered top 20 performances.

The Mustangs are coming off a strong 2023-24 season where they advanced to the NCAA Championship. The team finished second at the AAC Championship, their sixth straight top three finish at conference. The Mustangs then finished in fourth at the NCAA Regional, securing a bid to the NCAA Championship, their first since 2021. They finished in 27that the Championship. The Mustangs were led by the trio ofZachary Kingsland,Will SidesandJ. Holland Humphries, who each return for this season.


ZACHARY KINGSLAND
Kingsland has a 70.33 scoring average through two event in the new season. Last time out, he finished in the top 20 at the Valero Texas Collegiate carding a 65 in the middle round. He posted a t-14thplace finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate highlighted by a 66 in round one. In 2023-24, the sophomore led the team with a 70.90 scoring average, the seventh lowest in program history. He has shot par or better in 22 of 39 rounds to lead the team. The then sophomore finished in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship. Kingsland finished in 18that the NCAA Regional. Kingsland finished in eighth at the AAC Championship. He earned all-conference for his season performance. The sophomore finished in tenth at the Thunderbird Collegiate, shooting below par in each round. Kingsland finished in the top third of the field with a t-22ndplace showing at the Pauma Valley Invitational. Kingsland finished in a tie for sixth at the Wake Forest Invitational. The sophomore shot a 68 in his final round to move up the leaderboard. In his second appearance of the spring, the sophomore finished in the top half of the field at the Prestige. Kingsland finished in a tie for 12that the Fallen Oak Invitational. Zach carded 71 and 70 in the final two rounds. In his first appearance of 2023-24, Kingsland led the Mustangs with a 16 under performance. The sophomore shot four-under or better in every round with a low of 65. He finished in fourth place. Kingsland finished 10-under, good for 10thplace at the Stephens Cup. He posted a middle round of 64. In match play, Kingsland won his match, 5&4.


WILL SIDES
Sides has a 71.50 scoring average with three rounds of par or better and two rounds in the 60s. He led the team with a T-11th place finish at the Valero Texas Collegiate carding a 68 on the final day to move up 20 spots. carded a 69 in the final round of the first event of the season in 2024-25. Sidesaveraged 71.31 in 13 tournaments in 2023-24. He finished second on the team with 21 rounds of par or better and tied for first with 14 rounds in the 60s. Sides finished in 82ndof 185 at the NCAA Championship and 36thof 82 at the NCAA Regional. Sides earned All-Conference status for the second straight year. The sophomore led the Mustangs with a third-place finish at the AAC Championship. He shot a 67 in the middle round and finished at four-under par. Sides co-led the team with a 22ndplace finish at Pauma Valley. The sophomore shot a 69 in the final round. Sides finished in 14that the Louisiana Classics posting a 68 in the middle round. Sides led the team with a 17th-place finish at the Prestige. He carded a round of 66 on the final day. The sophomore finished in the top third of the field at the Arizona NIT. The Tulsa native led the team at the Cal Poly Invite with a 21stfinish. He shot a season's best 66 in round two. Sides finished in 24that four under at the Stephens Cup before tying his match play showdown. In his first appearance of 2023-24, he finished in 18that the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. He carded a round in the 60s on each day with a low of 67.


ENRIQUE DIMAYUGA
Dimayuga leads the team with a 69.00 scoring average, 1.50 below par. Dimayuga finished in the top 20 in his latest start. Dimayuga will be participating in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship during this week. He led the Mustangs in his first event at SMU. He finished in second place with rounds of 64 in the first and last round at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Dimayuga spent the last season at University of Nevada. He competed in eight events, earning four top-three finishes. Enrique was NamedFirst Team All-Mountain West andbecame the first golfer in program history to win consecutive titles. These three straight titles included securing first-place finishes at the UCSB Gaucho Invitational, El Macero Classic, and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. This matched the third best single round score in program history by carding a 64 (-8) in the final round of the El Macero Classic. It also matched the eight best 54-hole score in program history after posting a sensational 204 (-12) to win the UCSB Gaucho Invitational by two strokes. Enrique became the first golfer in program history to win back-to-back titles after winning the El Macero Classic less than a week after winning the UCSB Gaucho Invitational. He proceeded to secure his third consecutive title with another victory at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Enrique then qualified for the NCAA Stanford Regional as an individual where he finished tied for 14th with a 54-hole score of 206 (68-71-67).

AARON JARVIS
This season, Jarvis has a 73.00 scoring average through two events. He has one round of par or better coming at the Valero Texas Collegiate. Last season, Jarvis played in three events in the season and finished with a 73.11 scoring average. he finished with one round in the 60's and three rounds of par or better … his best finish came in a 38thplace of 84 showing at the Cal Poly Invitational. Jarvis won the Latin American Amateur Tournament and qualified for the 2022 Masters.

ANDREW PETRUZZELLI
Spent last season at TCU. He played in 11 events with a scoring average of 74.13. He finished in the top 20 three times and was a season-best 11that the National Golf Invitational (5/17-19), which included a season-best tournament of 4-under 212. Included in that tournament was a second-round score of 4-under 68. Petruzzelli had 12 rounds of par or better, including four under 70. The sophomore from Columbia, Missouri made three starts as a freshman in the Mustangs' lineup and completed seven rounds. He finished with a 73.86 scoring average. He finished in 45that the Louisiana Classics. In one official round at the Wake Forest Invitational, Aggarwal carded a 70. He competed at the Prestige Individual finishing in an impressive sixth place after a 70 in the final round.


MATTHEW FOSTER
Matthew Foster will see his first action of 2024-25 during the Trinity Forest Invitational. Fostercompeted 12 times during his first year on the Hilltop (2023-24). He finished with a 72.61 scoring average during his freshman campaign with one tournament victory. Foster finished in a tie for 28that the NCAA Regional to help the Mustangs advance. Foster finished in the top half of the field with a 34thplace showing at Pauma Valley. Foster shot a 68 in the middle round of the Louisiana Classics. In his second career start, Foster won the Fallen Oak Invitational with a score of eight under par. He shot rounds of 69, 71, 68 to dominate the tournament. Foster finished in a tie for 15that the Stephens Cup with an eight-under score. The freshman won his match play meeting on the final hole.


AREEN AGGARWAL
Aggarwal made his first start of the season at the Inverness Intercollegiate. He has a 73.67 scoring average. The sophomore from Columbia, Missouri made three starts in the Mustangs' lineup in 2023-24 and completed seven rounds. He finished with a 73.86 scoring average. He finished in 45that the Louisiana Classics. In one official round at the Wake Forest Invitational, Aggarwal carded a 70. He competed at the Prestige Individual finishing in an impressive sixth place after a 70 in the final round.

CHRISTIAN CLARK
Clark makes his first appearance of 2024-25 at the Trinity Forest Invitational. He will be competing as an individual.

GABE POST
Post tied for 74th as an individual in his first appearance as a Mustang at the Valero Texas Collegiate. He is set to make his second appearance at the Trinity Forest Invite, also as an individual.

J. HOLLAND HUMPHRIES
Humphries has a 73.17 scoring average through two events. He finished in 50that the first event of the fall season. He carded a 70 in round two. He averaged 71.67 in 2023-24, good for 0.44 above par on average. Humphries had 17 rounds of par or better this season. Humphries helped the Mustangs advance past the NCAA Regional with a T-28thperformance. Humphries finished in eighth at the AAC Championship shooting par or better in each round. Humphries finished in 19that the Thunderbird Collegiate. The redshirt sophomore finished in 14that the Louisiana Classics, shooting 70 in the final round to move up the leaderboard. Humphries finished in a tie for 13that the Wake Forest Invitational shooting 72 or better in every round. The third-year standout finished in 28thwith three rounds coming with one of par or better at the Cal Poly Invitational. At the Fallen Oak Invitational, Humphries finished at six under good for 17thplace. At the Stephens Cup, the Austin native came back from down one with two holes to play to win his match, 1 up. He started his 2023-24 season with a t-29thperformance at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.


HASKINS AWARD WATCH LIST
JuniorWill Sidesearned a place on the Haskins Award Preseason Watch List. This award is given annually to the top male US collegiate golfer as voted on by college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past winners of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Named in honor of Fred Haskins, the award is managed by the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top male golfer at the end of the season and to match the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top female Division I collegiate golfer.

SUMMER 2024
Enrique Dimayugawon the Singapore Open with a four-stroke victory. The new Mustang followed that up with an individual title at the Southeast Asian Amateur Team Championship.Will Sidesadvanced to the finals of the TMGA Amateur Championship. Sides also was a quarterfinalist at the Western Amateur.Aaron Jarvisearned a bid to the US Amateur Championship in July at Hazeltine.
